Satirical Spectator: "Holiday Related Tree Lighting"

Dear Students and Faculty,

The “Winter Holiday Related Tree” has been put up this year, with that holiday-related tree lighting taking place on December 4th! Now we can properly celebrate this year’s Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus related holiday while we prepare for the winter solstice. Have a nice Festivus!

Note for our readers: The University actually did send out an email in which it noted that there would be a “holiday-related tree lighting” on December 4th. Is there no point at which the war on Christmas will stop? There’s nothing offensive about noting that a menorah is for Hanukkah, so why do the PC police crack down on Christmas tree? Over this break I would like to encourage you to remember what the Christmas season is all about.
